The Kent Reporter covers the city's geographic area of 29 square miles, including outlying unincorporated areas adjacent to city limits. The City of Kent is the fourth-largest city in King County, Washington with a population more than 86,000. As a culturally rich destination, Kent's quality of life features neighborhoods with strong community ties, 60 parks, an exceptional school district, and nationally accredited police and fire departments. In recent years, Kent has experienced impressive economic growth, and is nationally known as a prime location for manufacturing.

Along with being the publisher of the Kent Reporter Polly is also the publisher of the newest member to the Sound Publishing Group, the Tukwila Reporter. She is also the Regional Manager for the Auburn, Kent, Renton & Tukwila regions. Polly is on the Kent Chamber Marketing Committee and also a member of the Kent Chamber of Commerce and the Southwest King County Chamber of Commerce.

Charles Cortes is the photographer, videographer for the Kent Reporter, as well as the other publications in the Reporter newspaper group. He is a 2007 graduate of Seattle University, with a degree in fine arts/photography. He is an award-winning photographer, capturing third place in the Suburban Newspaper Association's national contest, as well as a First place Best Color Feature Photo in the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association. On his days off he enjoys film photography and working in the darkroom.
