Republic Services (formerly Allied Waste) is on schedule for Presidents Day Pickup

This year, Presidents Day is on Monday, Feb. 18. Republic Services (formerly Allied Waste) will operate all trash, recycling and yard debris/organics collection routes on its normal schedule. Its customer service centers, however, will be closed in observance of the holiday.

Republic Services is an environmental partner serving Northwest communities' solid waste and recycling needs since the 1930s. Its recycling facility, at Third and Lander in Seattle, is the largest in the Pacific Northwest. Each year, this facility processes the equivalent weight of nearly 500, fully-loaded Boeing 747 airplanes.

Republic is the "green" company in the blue trucks and is committed to using compressed natural gas trucks which significantly reduce carbon footprint.
