New Kent Downtown Partnership executive Director Barbara Smith began her new job last week, taking over for Jacquie Alexander who retired after seven years in the role.

Smith comes to Kent from Grays Harbor County where she was the director for the Grays Harbor County’s Tourism Department. Smith served as the link between the county, the private and public businesses/agencies and general public, forming several partnerships between these entities.

Smith is encouraging anyone wanting to meet her to stop by the office at 202 W. Gowe St., call 253-886-2637 or e-mail her at barbaras@kentdowntown.org.
