Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna is the guest speaker for the second annual Friends of Scouting luncheon and fundraiser to benefit the Chief Seattle Council of the Boy Scouts of America Oct. 26 at the ShoWare Center in Kent.

The event, hosted by the Seattle Thunderbirds, raised more than $50,000 last year to support Cub Scout Day camps, summer lunch programs for low income children in conjunction with other local charities, Boy Scout camps, scholarships for camps, and similar youth programs.

The fundraiser will help support more than 2,500 youth in the Kent and Renton area.

The luncheon runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Event entry is free, but donations are requested.

People and businesses interested in hosting a table or 10 or sponsoring the event, can contact Jason Macpherson at jmacpherson@Seattlebsa.org or 206-902-2322.
