Kent offers informational luncheon about Social Security benefits

Get the rundown about changes in Social Security benefits during an informational luncheon in Kent.

The city of Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department's 50 Plus Program will host a Social Security 101 workshop at 12:15 p.m. Friday, April 27 at the Kent Senior Activity Center, 600 E. Smith St.

Kirk Larson, regional public affairs specialist for the U.S. Social Security Administration, will update baby boomers and seniors about retirement options.

The workshop is free but advanced coupons are required to guarantee space and handouts. Advanced lunch tickets are required for guaranteed seating in the Kent Parks Deli and Café, located on the east end of the senior center. Lunch tickets may be purchased for $6 and seating for lunch begins at 11:45 a.m.

Walk-in attendees may be accommodated if space is available at noon.
