Kent's Jessica Renner was recently appointed to the Developmental Disabilities Council, an advisory committee in Olympia.

Renner and the council provides information and support to the State of Washington to make good and appropriate choices for people with developmental disabilities.

Renner also is a member of SAIL (Self Advocates in Leadership) through the Arc of Washington State and has a certificate of completion for Advocating for Change Together (ACT) through the ARC of King County.

She has been a Kent-area resident since 1998, and has worked for the city of Kent and Veolia Transportation Services as well as volunteered with Renton Community Foundation and Washington Association for the Education of Young Children (WAEYC) in Kent.

"As a passionate and determined self-advocate in having this opportunity, I'm very much looking forward to continuing to build, and bring my local, and community awareness experiences to the state level," Renner said.
