The city of Kent seeks prints, photographs, paintings, works on paper and other types of artwork for the juried Kent Summer Art Exhibit.

All artwork selected for the exhibit are then eligible for City Art Purchase Awards and Kent Arts Commission Exhibit Awards. The exhibition is displayed salon style in the Centennial Center Gallery and adjacent conference rooms. The exhibition will be on display from June 12 through Aug. 30.

An awards panel will award a total of $5,000 to one or more artists to receive The City Art Purchase Award. This panel will also choose between three to five artists to receive the 2014 Kent Arts Commission Centennial Center Gallery Exhibit Award.

Artists are eligible to receive multiple awards. All participating artists and their guests will be invited to the Summer Art Exhibit Reception from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 12.

All artists residing in Washington state are eligible. The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 20. No application fee is required.

All entries must be submitted online at www.4culture.org. Look under local/regional opportunities at http://4culture.org/calls/2013/kent/2013_Kent_Summer_Art_Exhibit.pdf.
