Kent students see Rotary scholarships
June 5, 2008 · Updated 11:42 PM
Kent high-school seniors were honored by the Rotary Club of Kent with a scholarship banquet May 20 at Green River Community College.
Rotarians honored 100 graduating seniors at the event, recognizing 25 from each of Kent School District’s high schools.
Those students were honored for achieving the highest grade-point averages in their respective schools. The club invited those 100 students to apply for scholarships.
The club awards the scholarships based on coursework, future plans, community involvement and financial need.
Club members presented eight $3,000 awards to two students from each school.
The recipients included: Timothy Jang and Michele Yi of Kent-Meridian High School, Benjamin Hoag and Katherine Taylor of Kentlake High School, LeeAnn Allen and Todd Lane of Kentridge High School and Kinza Ahmad and Joshua Kutterer of Kentwood High School.
