Kentwood High School seniors Lavanne Whitman and Joel Wadagnolo are the Kent Rotary Students of the Week, for their achievements in career and technology programs.

Whitman is the daughter of Cindy and Kevin Swett of Kent.

She plans to attend Washington State University in Pullman, where she will major in accounting, so that she may become a certified public accountant.

Wadagnolo is the son of Ed and Marylou Wadagnolo of Covington.

His school activities related to technical programs include multiple courses in Java and computer applications, as well as Web design.

Also in school he volunteered for a week his junior year at Panther Lake Elementary, to help students with an after-school program called Century 21. It was there that he assisted with a variety of computer-related activities for students.

Outside of school, Wadagnolo has worked for Pacific Edge Photography since 2006, inputting picture orders.

Wadagnolo plans to attend WSU and major in computer science. He hopes to pursue a career in computer science, possibly in computer games.
