Three Kent elementary schools are participating in a program that can earn students free books from the Barnes and Noble Bookseller in Tukwila.

Martin Sortun, Park Orchard and Daniel Elementary are all part of the summer reading program at Barnes and Noble, in which any student who reads eight books and records their favorite parts in a summer reading journal gets a free book from the store.

The program runs through Sept. 7. Reading journals (and Spanish reading journals) are available at the store or online.
