Looking for something fun for the youngsters to do this summer?

Why not have them take the Summer Challenge?

Kent 4 Health, a grassroots organization focused on improving the health and quality of life of Kent citizens, is helping to sponsor the “Cruzin’ Passport Summer Challenge.”

It’s easy, and most of the activities are free. Each week, there will be fun, healthy activities that youngsters can participate in, and get their special “passports” stamped.

By earning enough stamps, they can be eligible for a free backpack.

The school that turns in the most Cruzin’ passports in September will win $1,000 worth of gym equipment.

The Kent Reporter also will list weekly events related to the program in its sports section.

Starting is easy. You can pick up passports in the following locations in Kent: Kent City Hall, Mayor’s office - 220 Fourth Ave. S.; Kent Chamber of Commerce, 524 W. Meeker; Kent Regional Library, 212 Second Ave. N.; and Fire Station No. 74 (East Hill) 24611 116th Ave. S.E.
