Take a carousel ride starting Nov. 27, when the Morford Family Carousel opens for the holiday season at Town Square Plaza, Second Avenue and Harrison Street in downtown Kent.

The carousel runs from 4-9 p.m. Nov. 27. The carousel will run Friday through Sunday during the holiday season. Hours will vary, and as of press time, they were not available.

The city of Kent will operate the carousel along with the Kent-Meridian High School Filipino-American Club, the Kentwood High School National Honor Society and the Order of Rainbow for Girls. Proceeds from the suggested $1-per-ride donation will support the three groups.

The classic Venetian-style carousel features 19 painted, carved horses and three special seats, designed by the famous Bertazzon Carousel Company of Italy.
