Take a carousel ride starting Friday, Nov. 27 as the Morford Family Carousel opens for the holiday season at Town Square Plaza, Second Avenue and Harrison Street in downtown Kent.

The carousel runs from 4-9 p.m. opening night. The hours of operation each weekend through Dec. 27 are 4-8 p.m. Friday, noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Hours are subject to change depending on weather conditions.

The city of Kent will operate the carousel along with the Kent-Meridian Filipino-American Club, the Kentwood National Honor Society and the Order of Rainbow for Girls. Proceeds from the suggested $1 donation per ride will support the three groups.

The classic Venetian-style carousel features 19 painted, carved wooden horses and three special seats, all designed by the famous Bertazzon Carousel Company of Italy.
