Monday, Memorial Day, was a blaze of flags and uniforms, as veterans, their families, and local visitors came to Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent to observe the holiday.

The ceremony featured colorguards, speeches and the sounds of a live band, all acknowledging the sacrifice so many gave in defense of their country.

Family and friends also went among the gravestones to lay flowers in tribute to their loved ones.
