A Cornucopia Days art gala

Art lovers enjoyed a gala reception July 8, opening the Kent Summer Art Exhibit at the Kent Centennial Center Gallery, 400 W. Gowe St. The exhibit is part of the Cornucopia Days celebration, one of Kent's biggest festivals of the year.

Rouge, a five-piece French cabaret band performed during the reception, which included appetizers, beverages, dessert and a no-host bar.

The exhibit by numerous artists of prints, photographs, paintings and works on paper is on display through Aug. 28. The exhibit features large work through Sunday and small work from Wednesday through Aug. 28. The two exhibits overlap Wednesday through Sunday to help celebrate Kent Cornucopia Days.The combined exhibit includes nearly 85 pieces of art by 40 artists. The gallery is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is no admission. For more information, go to www.ci.kent.wa.us/arts.
