It was a sporty night for the Kent Downtown Partnership June 26. With the them "Sportstown USA," the KDP conducted its annual membership banquet at the Kent Senior Activity Center. Each table of participants got to pick their favorite sports team, and any kind of related teamwear was encouraged.
The upshot was plenty of sports jerseys and a couple of mascots - even a moose (Rhubarb, from the Tacoma Rainiers) and of course Cool Bird, from the Seattle Thunderbirds hockey team.
Along with a chance to network and bid on auction items, members acknowledged some of the downtown's most dedicated workers, with awards.
