The Lingerie Football League and MTV2 have joined to offer a new show this fall about the women's league that features seven-on-seven tackle football.

“LFL Presents: Friday Night Football on MTV2,” debuts at 8 p.m. Sept. 3.

The show brings together two high-scoring forms of entertainment, all in high-definition: sultry athletes and full-contact football, according to a LFL media release. The Seattle Mist, who play at the ShoWare Center in Kent, are part of the 10-team league.

Advertisements to promote the new show started to air Aug. 17 on MTV networks.

“The marriage of LFL’s Friday Night Football to MTV2 has now created the ultimate television viewing destination for guys on Friday nights,” said Mitchell S. Mortaza, LFL founder and chairman. “We are incredibly excited to team with MTV2 to introduce LFL football to the country.”

Throughout the season, the LFL and MTV2 will present 20, half-hour highlight episodes along with the Western and Eastern Conference playoffs. Each week, viewers can check out all the hard-hitting moments from the week’s featured LFL game, gain access to the sidelines and the locker room.

The LFL is an extension of the Super Bowl halftime counter-programming special called the Lingerie Bowl. Since its premiere in 2004 the bowl is seen annually by millions of football fans worldwide.

The league plans to expand next year with teams in Las Vegas and Columbus, Ohio.
