Kent educators see top regional honors from South Puget Sound League
January 10, 2011 · Updated 6:31 PM
Kentwood High School Principal Doug Hostetter and Kentridge Assistant Principal Molly King were selected as the South Puget Sound League’s Principal and Vice Principal of the Year respectively last week.
The two education leaders were selected by their peers because of their excellent work supporting students and employees and for supporting the league. The SPSL is the largest interscholastic sports league in the state, and is part of the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA).
This is Hostetter’s 12th year as principal at Kentwood. This is King’s ninth year as an assistant principal in Kent School District. She was an assistant principal at Puyallup High School for three years.
“Receiving an honor from one’s peers is always a special one,” Hostetter said.
King noted, “I am lucky to have a team that has taught me a lot. I respect their professionalism, love their great sense of humor, and appreciate their dedication to kids.”
