Filing for political office begins Monday at King County Elections

Candidate filing for the 2011 primary and general elections begins Monday June 6 at 8:30 a.m. for in-person filing and at 9 a.m. for online filing. Candidates may file online, in person from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the King County Elections office or by mail.

Filing week ends Friday, June 10, at 4:30 p.m. (online filing closes at 4:00 p.m.). All applications must be received by King County Election officials by 4:30 p.m. on Friday. An updated list of filings will be posted on the Elections website at noon and 6:00 p.m. each day the end of filing week.

This year there are more than 300 offices open. A complete list of offices subject to election, along with additional information on candidate filing and a manual for candidates, is available on the Elections website, www.kingcounty.gov/elections.
