Man dies after late-night fight in downtown Federal Way
Mirror staff reports:
A late-night assault in Federal Way left one man dead.
At 2:18 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, Federal Way police responded to a report of a fight between seven or eight Hispanic males at Cafe Arizona, 2012 S. 320th St.
The men were removed from the bar by security. According to police, two of the men ran eastbound away from the bar. Two more men caught up to them near Denny's and continued fighting.
One male victim, a 34-year-old Seatac resident, was stabbed and suffered a serious head injury, possibly from being struck by a suspect's vehicle, police report.
South King Fire and Rescue administered aid to the victim, who was pronounced dead at 2:44 a.m., police report.
The suspects fled eastbound from the scene in a green 2001 Ford Mustang.
Federal Way police reported just after 1 a.m. Sunday that a suspect, age 24, was arrested outside an apartment in Kent. The suspect was booked into King County Jail and faces charges for second-degree murder. The Mirror is not naming the suspect until official charges are filed. A second suspect is still at large, and the investigation continues.
