Obtaining a plumbing, mechanical or re-roof permit is simpler and faster since the city of Kent launched a online system that allows customers to apply and pay for the permits.
The new system, which went live on Oct. 1, will decrease trips to City Hall, reduce waiting, cut down on printing costs and cut overall permit processing time, according to a city media release.
Permit Center manager Kimberlee McArthur said the online tool is the latest step in ongoing effort to streamline processes while enhancing services to homeowners, contractors and businesses.
“We continue to seek and implement improvements to our permitting process in order to meet or exceed customer expectations,” McArthur said. “This tool will save our customers hours of their time, reduce the time it takes to finalize projects and allow staff to focus on what they do best, which is helping customers.”
