Kent Police, KDP host Business Block Watch Program

January 7, 2013 · 1:31 PM

The Kent Downtown Partnership and the Kent Police Department sponsor a Business Block Watch Program from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the KDP office, 202 W. Gowe St.

Staff from the police department will present how business owners can stay protected from the inside out. They will explain the Trespass Authorization form that will enable the police, after business hours, to ask unauthorized persons on business property to leave. Without this form, the police cannot ask someone to leave private property.

Also, they will give the latest criminal statistics and suggest ways that community members can better protect themselves, vehicles, etc. This also will present an opportunity to have a one-on-one dialogue with the Kent Police.
