Kent Business and Occupation tax in full swing

January 7, 2013 · Updated 3:18 PM

The Kent Business and Occupation (B&O) tax adopted last October by the City Council is now in full effect.

The B&O tax is intended to help raise an estimated $5 million annually to pay for street repairs.

All companies doing business within Kent city limits must register with the city's Customer's Services Division.

Vendors and other suppliers of goods and services to businesses within city limits might have to pay as well.

More information can be found on the city of Kent website or by e-mailing Business-Occupation@kentwa.gov.
