Kent Police make additional arrests in connection to 2013 homicide

For the Reporter

Kent detectives have been diligently investigating a death that occurred June 3, 2013 at the Somerset Apartment complex on the East Hill.

The victim, 24-year-old Kent resident Latasha Walker, was found unconscious in her residence. Police and fire personnel responded to the location and were unable to revive Walker.

The cause of her death was initially unknown, but it was later determined that she died as a result of blunt force trauma which she had sustained to her body.

As the investigation unfolded it was determined that Walker was a victim of a robbery that involved four subjects. Detectives identified all of the involved subjects, which resulted in additional arrests over the past several days in connection to Walker's death.

"A lot of man hours have been invested in this case and for good reason," said Detective Melanie Frazier. "There is nothing more rewarding then when we are able to put those responsible behind bars and provide the family with some kind of peace regarding their daughter's unfortunate death.

All who were involved are being held on $1 million bail for the charge of murder in the first degree and are expected to appear in court at the Maleng Regional Justice Center on Monday, March 24.
