Typically during the weekend, the South County Futball Club U-12 boy’s soccer team is practicing drills and gearing up for another league game. But the weekend of Nov. 15-16, the Kent boy’s team along with parents and community supporters will be looking to score for those less fortunate soccer players around the world.

The boys, coached by Phil McGarry and Andrew Shell, are spearheading a drive through World Vision to collect soccer balls and other soccer equipment for kids around the world. Those wishing to help can drop off a new or slightly used soccer ball or other equipment or cash donations between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Saturday or Sunday at Wilson Playfield Complex in Kent (13028 S.E. 251st St.)

Families or individuals who donate are encouraged to write a personal message on the ball.

Contact team organizer Kimberly Shell at 253-350-5344 or by e-mail at scfcboys96@gmail.com.
