A 35-year-old Kent man who died in a Feb. 11 motorcycle accident has been identified as Maxwell A. Rawson by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Rawson was killed when his motorcycle, traveling at more than 60 mph, rear-ended a car stopped in traffic on a ramp from eastbound Highway 518 to southbound Interstate 5 at about 6 p.m. Feb. 11 in Tukwila.

He died at the scene of the accident.

With traffic backed up on the I-5 ramp waiting for a signal to allow vehicles to enter the freeway, Rawson reportedly entered the HOV lane and used the shoulder to pass cars before hitting a car stopped in traffic, said Trooper Dan McDonald of the Washington State Patrol.
