Suspect in the murder of Seattle police officer shot by police in Tukwila

Acting on a tip, Seattle and Tukwila Police Detectives on Friday were called to an apartment complex in the 13700 block of 56th Ave. S. in Tukwila investigating the Officer Tim Brenton murder case.
A citizen called in a tip that a car resembling the suspect vehicle was parking in the lot under a tarp.
In the course of the investigation, detectives attempted to contact a person of interest in the parking lot. The man fled and produced a pistol as he tried to get away.
Detectives fired their weapons and hit the man. Medic One transported the man to Harborview.
According to a press release, the incident occurred at 3:23 p.m.
Seattle Police are continuing to lead the investigation in Officer Brenton’s murder. They were still at the scene late Friday collecting evidence.
The King County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
Tukwila Police are supporting both agencies.

Tukwila Police do not anticipate releasing any more information.
