A 36-year-old Kent woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision at about 5:24 p.m. Monday on southbound Highway 167 near South 277th Street in Auburn.

The woman was identified Tuesday by the King County Medical Examiner's Office as Christine N. Jensen.

Jensen drove a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer when she swerved into the High Occupancy Vehicle lane on Highway 167 to avoid slowing traffic and struck a second vehicle. The Blazer then rolled over, coming to a rest in two other lanes. The second vehicle came to rest in a third lane, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers said Jensen was ejected from her vehicle after the rollover. She did not wear a safety belt.

Valley Regional Fire Authority units along with Medic One paramedics treated Jensen at the scene. Paramedics transported Jensen to the Auburn Airport and she was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where she died Monday evening.

The driver and a passenger of the second vehicle, a 2003 Ford Expedition, were not hurt. The driver was a 59-year-old Enumclaw woman and her passenger was a 58-year-old Enumclaw woman.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation by the State Patrol.
