A 72-year-old SeaTac woman was killed after her car collided with a semi truck at about 5:34 p.m. July 14 in the 27600 block of 68th Avenue South, also known as the West Valley Highway.
Mary L. Johnson, died from blunt force injuries to her body, according to the King County Medical Examiner's Office July 15 report.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kent Fire Department, according to a Kent Police media release.
Johnson was alone in the car. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
Initially, Johnson had been involved in a minor collision with another car, just north of the South 277th Street intersection. She had stopped to exchange information with the driver of that car.
Johnson then got back into her car and reportedly made a left turn from the shoulder across the northbound lane of traffic.
The semi, heading northbound, was unable to stop and collided into the driver's side of the car.
