Donald Hanson, a World War II veteran and former U.S. Navy chief petty officer, got a special, get-well visit from his comrades at the Seattle Veterans Administration Hospital on Sunday.

Visiting were: left, Chriss Moen, U.S. Army retired and life member of the Disabled American Veterans and junior vice commander DAV, Chapter A-One No. 33, Kent; and right, Michael Sepal, U.S. Army retired and life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and officer of the day, VFW Post 1741, Auburn.

Hanson, 96, has been a life member of the DAV and VFW for more than 50 years.

“I hope to get out of the hospital soon, so I can march in the 53rd annual Auburn Veterans Parade on Nov. 10,” Hanson said.
