Soles and paws roamed the sidewalks of Kent on Saturday, all part of a spring tradition – the Pampered Pet Walk.

The third annual event, put on the by Kent Downtown Partnership – with help from sponsors and groups – drew pet owners and their dogs of all shapes and sizes, shaggy and thin in fur, wet and dry in noses and long and short in tails.

State Sen. Joe Fain, R-Auburn, his wife Steffanie, their son Moxon and their dog Waffles joined Kent City Councilmember Dana Ralph and KDP executive director Barbara Smith and others to complete a short walk. The group then gathered at Kherson Park for entertainment, photos and conversation.

There were contests for best costumes and tricks.

Local businesses had booths set up at the park and gave away goodies.
