Kent man shot, killed on West Hill

Kent Police are still trying to determine who shot and killed a 52-year-old Kent man who died Friday night in a bar parking lot on the West Hill.

Officers responded to a CPR in progress call at about 7:34 p.m. at JJ’s Bar and Grill, 23826 Pacific Hwy S., according to an email on Monday from police spokeswoman Melanie Robinson.

Officers discovered the man had suffered a gunshot wound, Robinson said. The man died from his injuries.

“It is very early in this investigation and investigators are still trying to determine motive, so there are a lot of unknowns,” Robinson said. “This is being investigated as a homicide.”

The shooting suspect or suspects have not been caught.

“I have nothing additional I can release at this time,” Robinson said.

This marks the third shooting in Kent over the last few days.

Police are still looking for who shot and injured a 39-year-old Sikh man on Friday on the East Hill during a possible hate crime. Police also are looking for who shot and injured a 20-year-old Tukwila man late Thursday afternoon during a drive-by shooting near South 228th Street and the West Valley Highway.
