MARGARET (MAGGIE) JENNINGS

Maggie was born May 4, 1921 and passed away on March 14, 2017. She was one of six children in the family of Fred and Margaret Misho of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. Maggie attended Sacred Heart Catholic School for eight years and went on to graduate from Sauk Rapids High School in 1938. She then enrolled in nurses training at the St. Cloud Hospital, graduating in 1942.

While working as a nurse in Grand Rapids, Minnesota she met her husband Jack F. Jennings of Coleraine, Minnesota. Maggie and Jack moved to the Seattle area after Jack’s discharge from the army. They had one daughter, Margaret Ruth Jennings, who preceded her parents in death in 1992. Maggie and Jack were married 52 years at the time of Jack’s passing in 1994.

The Jennings family resided in the Seattle area for over 70 years. Maggie retired from the King County Sheriff Department after 21 years of service. She had many friends in the West Seattle, Capital Hill and Queen Anne areas. She volunteered helping senior citizens and visited with them on a daily basis.

Maggie is survived by her sister Mary Matelich of Kent, nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Kent, Washington on March 20, 2017.

“Maggie lived her life from day to day. Shed no tears – she has just gone away.”
