Richard (Dick) Orndorff

Richard (Dick) Orndorff passed away peacefully on August 14, 2016. He was born seventh of eleven children on October 26, 1934 in Princeton, MO to Orville and Hazel Orndorff. Dick married Janet (Kay) Roberts in 1956 and had three sons, Raymond, Richard (Brian), and Kurt.

In the mid 90’s Dick retired from his public school district career after serving as Assistant Director of Maintenance for both the Yelm and North Thurston School Districts. He retired to be a full time care giver for Kay, who passed away in 1998.

It was at church where he met his current wife, Ellen. Dick and Ellen were married in December, 1999.

Dick’s leisure time was spent playing golf and fishing for salmon and steelhead.

A loving family man with a huge heart, Dick enjoyed having his sons, step children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren around him. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for people, continuing to give right up until his last days.

Dick is survived by his wife, Ellen, sons, Ray (Shirley), Brian (Teri) and Kurt (Dena). Step children, Will (Tanya) and Apri; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, and one on the way. He is also survived by brothers Darrell (Bonnie), Lee (Joan) and sister Patty (Bob); many nephews, nieces, and extended family.

We know he is at peace in the arms of our Lord. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held on September 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm, Kent First Baptist Church,11420 SE 248th St, Kent, WA 98030. Burial will be on September 13, 2016 at 10 am, Sumner Cemetery.
