WILLIAM (BILL) DRAY

WILLIAM (BILL) DRAY

10/28/1931 – 9/27/2018

Bill is preceded in death by his wife Jeraldine LaFromboise and son Patrick Dray. He is survived by his 2 children Michael DeVore and Marci Dray.

Born and raised in Auburn, WA one of his first jobs was delivering groceries on his bike for Cugini Grocery where he learned his strong work ethic. After graduating from Auburn High School, he enlisted in the Coast Guard and served until 1953. His military career was cut short due to contracting Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He beat that with the zeal that embodied his whole life. As a student at the UofW he became an avid Husky fan. His tailgating parties were notorious and loved by many. Bill retired from Armstrong Homes as their Commercial Manager. He loved designing and constructing the buildings of his clients’ dreams.

He spent the last 50 years in Kent, WA where he enjoyed golf at Meridian Valley Country Club. He also enjoyed skiing and traveling with his wife Jeri, and spending time with his lifelong friends.

Bill was a consistent and active member of the Fred Meyer 9:00am Coffee Group. All world problems were solved but solutions never enacted.

His eternal optimism and ever-present sense of humor will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Celebration of Life will be held November 10, 2018 at Meridian Valley Country Club in Kent at 12:00p.m. Bill was such a Husky fan we ask that everyone come dressed in their favorite purple and gold for his last tailgate.

Please join family and friends to make this a special event about the incredible life Bill led. Any stories and/or memories you would like to share would be welcomed and appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, please make any donations in his name to FoldsofHonor.org.
