To Reporter columnist Walter Backstrom:

I recently read your article in the Kent Reporter and I’d just like to say thank you for your courage and your thoughtful words.

It is always difficult to choose between politicians especially with all the side issues of race and war. But being a religious conservative, I know how important it is to stick to your faith and make decisions on

issues that are of utmost importance. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to do so in an African

American community where the Democratic candidate is African American as well.

I admire your courage.
