Thank you, Mary Ellen Stone, for your leadership
September 30, 2009 · 11:30 AM
This past week the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center celebrated the 30th anniversary of the leadership of Mary Ellen Stone as executive director. At a reception held in her honor we acknowledged the active role Ms. Stone has played in changing the nature of sexual-assault prevention, education and victim response in Washington state.
Speaking at the reception Speaker of the House, Frank Chopp highlighted her tireless work on behalf of victims of violence. She was presented a citation by the City of Seattle and a Proclamation from the King County Council.
Under her leadership KCSARC has become widely recognized for innovation in the field of sexual-assault services and prevention. Housed all these years in Renton we are fortunate to have these comprehensive services accessible to all.
Thank you, Mary Ellen Stone, for your past leadership and commitment to a future that will “end the silence” about sexual assault.
