Kent's ShoWare Center to feature two high school basketball tournaments in January

High school basketball fans will get the chance to check out two boys and girls tournaments in January at Kent's ShoWare Center.

The Valley Medical Center Showcase on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 16, features five boys games and two girls games.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students with ASB, $5 for senior citizens and $7 for students without ASB cards.

All four Kent schools will participate in the Les Schwab Shootout in Kent on Friday, Jan. 27.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students with ASB, $5 for senior citizens and $7 for students without ASB.

The Kent-Meridian boys will compete in both tournaments. The Royals entered this week atop the South Puget Sound League 4A North Division with a 6-1 record, one-half game ahead of Mount Rainier.
