Kent Downtown Partnership public meeting on proposed homeless shelter
February 12, 2012 · Updated 7:47 PM
The Kent Downtown Partnership has been asked to gather input from our business community as to whether or not they would want a day/night homeless shelter in this part of Kent.
Please come to a public meeting being hosted by the KDP on Wednesday, February 15 at 8:30am, at the Titusville Station, outside of Perk Up Place.
The Union Gospel Mission is the organization interested in leasing the former City Resource Center on Meeker Street and will be on hand to explain their program and answer questions.
Please come and hear about their program, what they are proposing, and ask questions. This is your chance to learn about the pros and cons and make a suggestion to the City as to what you would like them to do.
This is an information gathering meeting, not a city sponsored public meeting. No decisions will be made on this day. Please share this information with anyone you would like to invite.
Please give our guest, Union Gospel Mission an opportunity to present their program before questions. We will have forms for you to complete as to what your desire is at the end of the meeting. KDP will compile these and present it to the Mayor and City Council.
It will be the city’s decision, not KDP’s, as to what direction the City decides to go with after reviewing the written input. Information will be kept confidential.

Executive director
