Deadline coming up for Kent's ShoWare Shootout 3-on-3 basketball tournament

The deadline is Tuesday, July 24 for teams who want to compete in the second annual ShoWare Shootout 3-on-3 basketball tournament July 28-29 at the ShoWare Center parking lot in Kent.

The tournament is open to all ages of men, women and children. Courts are set up in the parking lot at the ShoWare Center.

The entry fee is $75 per team. The fee includes a guarantee of four games, a T-­Shirt and extra T-­shirt if your team wins the championship game of

the division.

Each division will play on its own court with a main court hosting the top divisions. The main court will be set up in the middle of the ShoWare parking lot. The tournament also offers a wheelchair division.

A total of 150-­200 teams are expected to take part in the event.

A ball hockey rink will be set up as part of the event. Teams will play in a tournament format July 28-­29 as part of the ShoWare Shootout. The same entry rules apply to those wanting to play ball hockey, a sport in which players use a stick to knock a ball into a net.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Kent Youth and Family Services.
