Tahoma and Kentridge into state tournament | Girls soccer

State tournament dreams remain alive for Kentridge and Tahoma but Kentwood's has been shattered along with a streak of seven straight appearances in the 4A sweet 16 bracket.

Tahoma put together a 4-0 victory over Evergreen with Kaysha Darcy putting two goals in the net and assisting on a third.

The win earned Tahoma the No. 1 seed out of the district and a match up with Snohomish at 7:30 Wednesday night at Tahoma High.

Kentridge beat South Kitsap 1-0 to earn the right to play Mead out of Spokane at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night at University High.

Hunter Mar scored the winning goal on a penalty kick while Chargers keeper Jena Fleweling tallied the shutout.In 2011 Kentridge got the unfortunate first-round draw of Skyline and lost 1-0 there.Kentwood lost to Curtis 2-1.

Curtis scored just one minute into the contest but Sterling Peterson put it in the net at the 54 minute mark.

The Conquerors were a young team this season with just three varsity players returning from the 2011 squad.

Kentwood finished the season 10-5-3 overall.
