Thomas Hickey, 19, plays defense for the T-Birds. He also distinguished himself last month by winning a gold medal as a member of Team Canada at the 2009 World Junior Championships in Ottawa, Ontario. Hickey played in all six games of the tournament and had three assists. Not only was Hickey an integral member of Team Canada, he was also the captain of the team, a very big honor. Hickey also was a member of Team Canada at the 2008 World Junior Championships and also won a gold medal. Team Canada has now won five consecutive gold medals at this prestigious annual tournament. Hickey will return to the Thunderbirds for their game on Friday, Janu. 9, against the Tri-City Americans at the ShoWare Center in Kent.
