Everett Silvertips claw past T-Birds 2-1

The Seattle Thunderbirds fell to the Everett Silvertips 2-1 on Sunday evening at the ShoWare Center.

Everett (21-23-3-4) opened the scoring on the power-play at 11:50 of the first period on Ryan Murray's third goal of the season. Ryan Harrison and Brennan Yadlowski assisted on the goal.

The first period ended with the Silvertips maintaining their 1-0 lead. Shots were even 9-9 through 20 minutes of play.

Seattle (18-24-4-5) evened the score at 12:44 of the second period on Brenden Dillon's 6th goal of the season. Marcel Noebels controlled the puck directly in front of the Everett net and fired a wrist shot that was deflected by an Everett defender to the boards on the right side of the offensive zone. Defenseman Dave Sutter gained control of the puck and fired another shot at Everett goalie Kent Simpson. Simpson made the save with his right pad, but the rebound floated all the way out to Dillon who was waiting at the top of the left circle. Dillon fired a slap shot that deflected off of an Everett defender and just over Simpson into the back of the net.

The Silvertips retook the lead at 17:15 of the second period on Harrison's 17th goal of the season. Parker Stanfield had the only assist.

After two periods, Everett held a 2-1 lead as well as the shot advantage, 24-18.

There was no scoring during the final period, leaving Everett with a 2-1 victory. Seattle outshot Everett 11-9 during the final period, leaving the Silvertips with a 33-29 overall advantage at the end of the game.
