Darius LuBom scored 22 points and D’Angelo Minnis and Koby Huerta each had 14 points as Kentwood defeated Federal Way 65-59, snapping the Eagles’ 63-game winning streak and capturing the 4A North Puget Sound League high school boys basketball title Saturday at Auburn Riverside High School.

It was the first loss for Federal Way (20-1) since a nonleague loss to Bellevue on Jan. 19, 2015. The Eagles have won back-to-back state championships, the second of which came at the expense of Kentwood in the Tacoma Dome last March.

Kentwood (19-2) plays the winner of the Auburn Riverside-South Kitsap game in the first round of the 4A West Central/Southwest bi-district playoffs on Thursday.

Elsewhere

Kentridge 69, Todd Beamer 43: Jett Briceno scored 19 points, Tyler Cronk had 13 and AJ Chappell finished with 12 as the Chargers routed the Titans in NPSL tournament play.

Kentridge opens the bi-district playoffs at Kennedy Catholic on Thursday.
