MASL Rookie of the Year returns to Stars

Philip Lund, the Major Arena Soccer League Rookie of the Year, is returning to the Tacoma Stars.

Per team and MASL policy, terms of Lund’s deal were not disclosed.

Lund finished fourth on the team in scoring with 20 points (17 goals, three assists) and tied for the lead in playoff scoring with three points last season.

Lund, a native of Denmark, played in every regular season and playoff game for Tacoma last season.

In addition to the MASL, Lund saw playing time with the Seattle Sounders FC in 2013 and has played professionally in the Faroe Islands, Norway and Oklahoma City.

The Stars kick off the 2018-19 season Saturday, Dec. 1 against the Dallas Sidekicks.
