Ban is needed to protect us

I am not only an “old fogey over 50” but also someone who has protected this community for more than 36 years as an emergency responder.
In that time, I can say unequivocally that each and every year on or around July 4, there was 1, a structure fire; and 2, an injury to a human as the result of fireworks.
Our world is ever changing and as adults, so must we.
To harken back to the “good old days” doesn’t cut it any more. We are more densely populated and the fireworks of yesteryear have been replaced with M-80s and uber bottle rockets.
Yes, Janice Little, this is for “the sake of the young.” You are welcome.
