Statistics? Dangerous fireworks prevalent as ever

I read the article “A much quieter Fourth of July in Kent” in the July 27 Kent Reporter.

In the current times that we live, I realize that statistics are often counted on to confirm trends. However, my experience the night of the Fourth was probably the worst ever. Around 1:30 a.m., someone fired a mortar across the lake behind my house and it exploded within 20 feet of my bedroom window.

So, here’s one for the statisticians … I just sucked it up … absolutely no point in calling the police. They’re shorthanded and overwhelmed as it is. They’re doing all they can do. It’s more about lack of civility and poor parenting.

Don’t pee down my back and tell me it’s raining.
