Dick’s Drive-In in Kent will be part of the restaurant’s 70th anniversary celebration with a party from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16.

Dick Spady, Warren Ghormley and Dr. B.O.A. “Thom” Thomas opened the first Dick’s Drive-In location in Wallingford in Seattle on NE 45th Street on Jan. 28, 1954. Dick’s opened its Kent location in 2018 at 24220 Pacific Highway S.

The party in Kent will include live performances by Seattle-area musicians, an eclectic mix of cars from across the decades, a photo booth, face painting, a swag pop-up and a sweet memory booth, according to a Dick’s Drive-In Facebook post.

The local artists are Leif Totusek (African music), Aline & Wes (soulful rock), La Fonda (indie rock) and The Sliding Eights (rock).

And, of course, attendees will want to order a burger, shake and fries.
