Experience the taste, sounds and soul of Louisiana at the Cajun & Creole Festival from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16 in downtown Kent at Burlington Green-Yangzhou Park, 101-299 Railroad Ave. N.

“It’s a perfect opportunity for locals and visitors to experience the vibrant and lively culture of Louisiana, Cajun-and Creole-themed food trucks, beer/wine garden, vendors/artists, and activities for the kids,” according to the Kent Downtown Partnership. “We promise a feast for the senses!”

New Orleans-style costumes are encouraged. Attendees are asked to bring folding chairs and blankets to spread out on the grass while they enjoy the music. Limited beads, masks, T-shirts, assorted stickers and more will be for sale at the information booth.
