Regional Animal Services in Kent limits operations at shelter

Out of caution due to the ongoing flood emergency, operations will be limited at the King County Pet Adoption Center in Kent through at least Friday, Dec. 19.

Regional Animal Services (RASKC), according to a Dec. 16 news release, is asking residents to:

• Avoid bringing stray animals into the shelter. Instead, use the tips at kingcounty.gov/FoundAPet, using websites and social media to reunite stray pets with their owners.

• Hold off on surrendering a pet. Connect with friends or family for temporary pet housing if you live in a flood-impacted area.

Also, because many roads in the Kent Valley are closed or restricted due to flooding, prospective pet adopters are asked to hold off on visiting the center at during the current situation. RASKC will be moving most of its animals to foster homes or other offsite locations.
